The editorial staff of the European Journal of Psychoanalysis is guided in their activities by the following principles:
\nmeeting the requirements of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) and Berlin Declaration Open Access to Knowledge in the Sciences and Humanities;
\nholding to editorial independence;
\ngiving priority to discussion and debate;
\npromotion and support for scientific conscientiousness and integrity;
\nsatisfaction of scientific demands and interests of the Authors and Readers;
\nundertaking systematic work on improving the Journal;
\nguaranteeing the quality of published materials;
\nproviding anonymity in the Author \u2013 Reviewer(s) relationships;
\ninforming the Authors about the rules and requirements for publication;
\nproviding freedom of expression to the Authors of papers;
\nmonitoring respect for the intellectual property rights;
\ndeveloping recommendations for the review of papers;
\ndeveloping mechanisms for resolving the conflicting interests.<\/p>\n
In cooperation with the Authors, the Editorial board of the Journal is guided by the following rules:
\naccomplishes all measures necessary to ensure the quality of the submitted materials subject to subsequent publication;
\nensures compliance with the established mechanisms for reviewing papers, as well as refuting or cancelling of decisions made by the Editorial board;
\ninforms the Author either of the acceptance of his\/her paper for publication, or of the need to revise it, or of its rejection;
\ngiving of a reasoned and well-founded description of the expert assessment of the paper submitted for publication.<\/p>\n
In cooperation with the Reviewers, the Editorial board of the Journal is guided by the following rules:
\nprovides the reviewers with recommendations for reviewing papers;
\nprovides the reviewers with a system for checking the degree of paper originality;
\nguarantees confidentiality for the reviewer;
\nmakes it possible to refuse peer review without explaining the reasons for the refusal;
\nconsiders peer review as an integral part of assessing the scientific publication that confirms the high quality of scientific papers.
\nPeer review involves working with the Reviewers who are acknowledged experts in the relevant field of knowledge. In order to get that done, the Editorial board, in addition to the members of the editorial staff, cooperates with a wide range of scientists from different countries.<\/p>\n

The Editorial board of the European Journal of Psychoanalysis maintains the modern progressive level of requirements as to the selection and publication of scientific papers. These norms are determined by the quality standards of scientific papers, the subject matter of the Journal, as well as scientific directions adopted in the world scientific community.
\nThe basic ethical requirements for scientific publications constitute the standards of conduct and professional obligation of members of the Editorial board in regard with both each other and the public, as well as ensuring the right of each Author to intellectual property. All persons involved in the process (editors, authors and reviewers) are guided by ethics principles in scientific publications.
